BARBADOS- Sheryl Natasha Forde

Sheryl Natasha Forde was born on 16th February 1997, her education began at the Vauxhall Primary School at the age of 4, after completing the Barbados Secondary School entrance examination she went on to continue the moulding of her personality and intellect at the Deighton Griffith Secondary School and the Queens College School. Presently she is a student of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, majoring in International Relations (Bsc).  As she endeavours to reach her life goals, her determination, love for the stage, performing, and charity drives her as fuel does an engine, and it’s her ultimate career goal to become a Politician (Minister of Foreign Affairs) and a Diplomat of Barbados.

Sheryl says her life goal is to help others and in addition to doing so professionally, she strives to achieve that personally through charity work which began at her Primary School level where she was enrolled in Brownies and then later in the Barbados Girl Guides Association. She was also a member of the Barbados Youth Parliament and Key Club Barbados which speaks to her passion of service. She strongly believes that charity can change a person’s life and the world one day at a time, simply by lending a hand in service and this is what leads her to volunteer  for organizations such as the Kiwanis, The Barbados Vagrant and Homeless Society and Variety the Children’s Charity of Barbados.

Another interest of Sheryl’s is dancing which she began at the age of eight; she is trained in the genres of Ballroom, Latin and Ballet and has received honours from the Imperial Society of Dancing Examinations, she was also a finalist for the ISTD Grand Finals in Blackpool, England where she placed 2nd. Her love for stage and performing drove her to enter the Miss Queens College Pageant where she placed first runner up and The Miss Barbados Caribbean Pageant where she emerged the winner, which afforded her the opportunity to represent her country at the Miss Carival Pageant 2016.

Sheryl believes she can be a great ambassador for her country with her determined and pleasant personality which is proven through her kindness and her willingness to help shape the youth and her country which contributes to its development. She also lives by a quote by Thomas Alva Edison “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”  So this gives her the inspiration to
